Roubik is a seasoned management executive and technology visionary with over 25 years of proven experience in the semiconductor industry. Roubik has successfully held roles as CEO, COO, CTO as well as senior general and technical management positions in publicly-traded companies and start-ups. He is widely known in the communications IC industry as a leading expert in mixed-signal design and digital signal processing. Prior to Plato Networks, he served as President/CEO and board member of publicly-traded EXAR Corporation where he was instrumental in transitioning the company into a major supplier of communication ICs. Roubik joined Exar through the acquisition of Startech Semiconductor, where he served as President and board member. Prior to Startech, he worked at Sierra Semiconductors where he held a variety of positions, most recently as Vice President of R&D and Chief Technology Officer. During his employment at Sierra Semiconductors he directed product strategy and development activities including the company’s data communications and graphic products which were instrumental in taking the company public in 1991. He began his career with American Microsystems, where he worked for six years in a variety of engineering and management roles and received several awards including one for developing the industry’s first PCM CODEC. His last position at AMI was Department Manager for analog and telecommunications products.
Roubik has been issued 28 patents, authored two textbooks and 45 technical articles. He received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from UCLA as well as a M.Sc. from Tehran University.
