John J. Ghaznavi is the Chairman and CEO of G & G Investments, Inc., the third largest glass container manufacturing company in the world. A graduate of the University of West Virginia in engineering, he has pursued a business career along with extensive charity work. In 1996, Ernst & Young, PNC Bank and USA Today named him Master Entrepreneur of the Year.
He has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Glass Packaging Institute and is Chairman of the G.M.P. Employers Retiree Trust. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society. For his charity works, Mr. Ghaznavi has received seven consecutive Gold Awards from the United Way. The John J. Ghaznavi Foundation, established in the mid-1990Õs, helps children and youth in need throughout the world.
The foundation was instrumental in founding and building the Razi School in New York, and has funded similar projects in Iran. The foundation has been particularly active in Iran in aiding orphaned children and people needing medical care.
