Kayvan Najarian is an Iranian born scientist, Associate Professor of Computer Science at School of Engineering of Virginia Commonwealth University [1], Affiliated faculty of Emergency Medicine at School of Medicine of Virginia Commonwealth University,[2] and Associate Director of Virginia Commonwealth University Rehabilitation Engineering Shock (VCURES) center[3]. He received his B.SC. in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, his M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, and his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of British Columbia. Kayvan Najarian is particularly known for development of computer-aided medical decision systems that apply advanced signal and image processing methods to improve the quality of care provided to patients. He has numerous patents and over 150 publications [4]. He is the author of two books:
