Gobi Rahimi is a producer, director and writer with over 250 credits in music videos, commercials and interactive media for the web. He is currently producing Monster Surf for Imax in 3D.
His recent webisodic ARG (alternative reality gaming) for Nestle’s Butterfingers starred Seth Green and garnered over seventy million unique visitors. Attendees at his 3DX Film Festival in Singapore included the CEO’s of Disney, Dream Works, and Fox. This past year his show “FIRST IN” followed the lives of Firefighters in Compton, and premiered on the BET Network.
Gobi has produced and directed music videos from a diverse collection of artists ranging from Yoko Ono to Snoop Dogg. He also produced the star-studded music video and documentary for the remake of, “Wake Up Everybody”, the 1960’s R & B classic by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. Drawing on his own multi-cultural background, he oversaw the collaboration of a diverse range of musical talents including Mary J. Blige , Marie Ben-Ari, Jadakiss, Jamie Fox, Missy Elliott, Wyclef Jean, and the musical producing genius of Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds. This project benefited America Coming Together (ACT).
While much of Gobi’s critical acclaim has come from his music videos, he’s also garnered a great deal of praise for his commercial work – producing product spots for Fortune 500 companies like Shell, Gateway and Symantec. He’s also created premium brand spots for fashion companies BCBG, and Sketchers.
Gobi is also a published author. His book “Thru My Eyes” was published by Simon & Schuster/Atria Books, and is a collection of photography and words inspired by Tupac Amaru Shakur.
